ABOUT BÖCKMANN

A success story which started in Germany in 1956

“You have to put your heart into the business to be successful in the long run.” - This is the philosophy that blacksmith Anton Böckmann taught his four sons at an early age. Gilbert, Tönne, Klaus and Roger still remember this well to this day. He also instilled their enthusiasm for horses and riding. When the ponies had to be transported to riding events it prompted Anton Böckmann to design his first pony trailer. The foundations for Böckmann Fahrzeugwerke GmbH were laid. And when his sons outgrew their ponies, father Böckmann decided to build his own horse trailer. A short while later the first floats were sold, proper serial production started in the 60s.

Innovation as a (family) tradition: The floats are being improved all the time as the family actively use and test their products. This is how Böckmann became the market leader for horse floats – and one of the leading European trailer brands. All these developments have one thing in common: a product needs to be good enough to meet the requirements of the family and their horses before it enters serial production. Thus, Böckmann have exactly the same aim as the rest of the riding community: the wellbeing of the horse!

Today, the Böckmann Group employs more than 400 people and has produced more than 500,000 trailers, delivered to customers worldwide.

A large family: from a small blacksmith’s workshop to the Böckmann Group we know today.
